Microsoft Teams Room is frozen with “No display connected"
1. Verify Display Input & Signal Path
- Confirm the display is set to the correct HDMI input
- Try switching input source manually on the TV/monitor
- Check if any signal (even BIOS/boot screen) appears during restart
👉 If no signal even during boot → likely hardware/cable/port issue
2. Swap HDMI Path (Very Important)
- Replace HDMI cable with a known working one
- Try a different HDMI port on the display
- If using:
- Extenders (HDBaseT)
- Wall plates
- Switchers
→ bypass them completely and connect directly
3. Check MTR Compute Unit Output
- Connect the MTR (Intel NUC / compute) directly to a different monitor
👉 Outcomes:
- Works on another display → issue with room display or cabling
- Still no output → issue with compute unit or graphics output
4. Force EDID / Resolution Reset
Sometimes MTR gets stuck due to EDID mismatch:
- Power OFF:
- Display
- MTR compute
- Power ON sequence:
- Display ON first
- Wait 1–2 mins
- Then power ON MTR
5. Check USB-C / HDMI Adapter (if used)
- If your setup uses adapters:
- USB-C to HDMI
- Mini DP to HDMI
👉 These commonly fail — replace/test with spare
6. Remote Access / Peripheral Check
- Check if:
- Touch panel (Crestron/Poly) is responsive
- Camera LED or peripherals are active
- Try remote into MTR (if network connected)
👉 If system is reachable but no display → confirms display path issue
7. BIOS / Recovery Check
- During reboot, press key (F2/F10 depending on device)
- Check if BIOS screen appears
👉 No BIOS display = strong indication of:
- Faulty HDMI port
- Failed compute unit GPU
8. Last Step Before Escalation
- Try a full power drain:
- Disconnect power completely
- Hold power button 10–15 sec
- Reconnect and boot
When to Escalate
Escalate to Tier 2 / OEM if:
- No output on multiple displays
- No BIOS visibility
- Known good cables tested
- Direct connection tested
