Samsung screen not displaying — power supply warning
Phase 1 — Power & cabling
1 . Reseat the Samsung screen's power cable
Unplug the power cable from the back of the screen and from the wall socket (or PDU). Wait 30 seconds, then firmly reconnect both ends. The "check power supply" message can appear even when the cable looks seated, due to a loose contact.
2 .Try a different wall socket or power strip port
If a surge protector or PDU is in use, plug the screen directly into a wall outlet to rule out an underpowered or faulty power strip. Samsung commercial displays can be sensitive to power quality.
3. Inspect all HDMI / USB-C cables for damage
Check every cable running from the Logitech Rally compute box, Barco ClickShare base unit, and Apple TV to the screen. Look for bent pins, fraying, or loose connections. Swap any suspect cable with a known-good replacement.
The fact that the screen briefly appeared to connect during the Logitech Rally reboot (before dropping back to the source screen) suggests the screen is receiving a signal but failing to maintain it — pointing to a handshake or power delivery issue rather than a fully dead display.
Phase 2 — Input & source settings
4. Manually select the correct HDMI input on the Samsung
Using the Samsung remote or the input button on the screen's panel, cycle through each HDMI port (HDMI 1, 2, 3) and check whether any source shows an image. Auto-detect can sometimes latch onto an inactive port.
5. Test with a single known-good device only
Disconnect all sources except one (start with the Apple TV, which is the simplest). Connect it directly to HDMI 1 with a short cable. If a picture appears, reconnect the other devices one at a time to isolate which is causing the conflict.
6. Disable HDMI-CEC / Anynet+ on the Samsung
Go to Menu → General → External Device Manager → Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) and turn it off. CEC can cause competing devices (especially Apple TV and Logitech Rally) to fight for control of the active input, resulting in the screen reverting to the source selector.
7. Power cycle all connected devices in sequence
With the Samsung screen on, power off the Logitech Rally, Barco ClickShare, and Apple TV. Wait 1 minute. Power on the Samsung first, wait for it to reach the source screen, then power on each device one at a time — Logitech Rally last, as it was the one showing a brief connection.
Phase 3 — Firmware & factory reset
8. Check for Samsung display firmware updates
Navigate to Menu → Support → Software Update → Update Now. An outdated firmware version can cause HDCP handshake failures and power-related warnings, especially with newer devices like Apple TV.
9. Perform a Samsung display self-diagnosis
Go to Menu → Support → Self Diagnosis → Picture Test. If the built-in test image displays correctly, the panel itself is healthy and the problem lies with signal input, cabling, or connected devices.
10. Reset the Samsung display to factory defaults
As a last software-side resort, go to Menu → General → Reset. This clears any misconfigured input or HDCP settings. Note that you will need to reconfigure the display name, resolution, and any custom settings afterwards.
